You are your most important resource

Its important to maximise our physical, personal and financial resources,
to make them work for us, if we are going to achieve your goals.

This week I talk about your personal resources.

FUTURE: You are your most important resource

Its important to maximise our physical, personal and financial resources,
to make them work for us, if we are going to achieve your goals.

This week I talk about your financial resources.

It may seem obvious that you are your own most important resource, so its amazing how many of us fail to either look after ourselves, or utilise ourselves to the best of our ability.

I strongly recommend you draw up a MBS plan, a sub-plan to your main life and financial plan.

Mind, body, spirit is not actually a New Age phenomenon. The concept was devised by St Bernard, the Abbot of Clairvaux, in 1115. Bernard saw humans as made up of the mind, the body and the spirit, all of which needed rest, healing and growth. To this end he zoned Clairvaux into three parts. The library was for the mind, the kitchens and the dormitories for the body and the chapel for the spirit.

So, follow his example

Make a plan to develop your mind. I actually see PD as being the primary goal of FLP, to help people find the time and money to develop, in particular so they can become world changers, people able to make the world a better place for all who live in it.

Look after your body; its there to support your mind, so keep it fit and healthy. Don’t have to be a total aesthete. personally, i try to find time to run 30 – 40 ks per week (difficult in the middle of winter), eat sensibly, avoid fad diets, and don’t mind the odd glass of alcohol in the evenings

get regular check ups; many health companies offer a check-up service, even if you are not members

You need to keep your spirits up. Your spirit plan could include meditation, retreats to help understand what provides most meaning in your life, providing help and compassion to others. As Caroline Myss writes in her book Invisible Acts of power: ’To evolve into spiritual maturity you must become conscious and effective about who you are and what you need spiritually as well as physically. You must be able to bring together your self-esteem and your intuition in order to act from your power’
